Style Me Pretty: Nautical Kids Birthday

So excited to share our Nautical Kids Birthday is featured on the Style Me Pretty Living! The inspiration behind this party came from a wooden sailboat, add in pop of colour (red & blue) it was a whole lot of fun!

Portia turns 3!

Here’s a look at fun bash full of pink & frills I put together for one of my favourite local bloggers, Jessica (the talented writer behind North Shore Mama) and her adorable little girl, Portia.

Four Must Haves to perfect any kids birthday:

Colour: add a pop of colour to your table / décor (colourful napkins + straws are a simple way to brighten up the spread)

Sweets: Macarons are my favourite, and far less messy than cupcakes!! Sweets such as candy, can also be used as decor when arranged in jars or vases

Garland / Banner: pink + white fringe garland (super easy DIY craft), it was the prefect backdrop for table

Cake: Thanks to Tessa at the Sweet Bakeshop for making this delicious ombre pink cake for our little guest of honour!

Kids Birthday Fun!

As a busy working mom of two young boys, I look forward to planning fun + colourful parties for my two favourite mini clients each year. This past Spring while planning my little one’s second birthday (photos to come), I received a ton of emails inquiries, regarding kids birthday parties. There was a common thread: moms asking for help with not only planning but also how to add personality (hence customized décor), and still create a simple yet, ‘kid-approved’ fun party.  My solution is simple: DIY Crafts, and loads of colour! If you’ve been following my blog you are probably aware of my deep love of details, and personalized crafts + décor. While there a ton of DIY crafts out there, my favourites include: backdrops, banners, personalized cookies + cupcakes, games, and giant fringe balloons. NY Eve Birthday Bash

Here’s a look back at our last event of 2012, an unforgettable New Year’s Eve Birthday bash for my bestie, Candice. Since her special 30th birthday fell on New Year’s Eve, we chose gold & black for our colours, and transformed the very modern Executive One-Bedroom Suite at the Hotel Georgia, to an elegant party room. Giant gold balloons, a whole lot of sequence, glittery cupcakes & signature strawberry margaritas are a few of the highlights of this fabulous party. It was the perfect start to the New Year’s eve celebration, and aprés drinks & sweet treats, party guests moved down stairs, and danced the night away at the Spanish Ballroom New Year’s soirée, at the Hotel Georgia.

If you don’t already follow us on Instagram @Fleurdelisevents, here are some of the highlights  of this memorable night. Happy Birthday bestie, here’s to many more celebrations to come!!
