Bisou Bridal x Romona Keveza

Last week we were invited to preview Bisou Bridal’s fashion show featuring the launch of Romona Keveza bridal couture. Romona Keveza is a New York based collection, however the gowns are manufactured in Canada. The collection is exclusive to Bisou Bridal   and features gowns ranging in price from $2000 to $7000.

It was a great evening full of familiar faces, gorgeous gowns, and sweet treats. Here are a few iPhone photos, and stay tuned for professional photos to come.

Sarah Jessica Parker x Nordstrom

Having spent the better part of my twenties watching the Sex and the City television series with girlfriends, you can imagine my excitement when I heard about the Sarah Jessica Parker “meet & greet” at the Flagship Nordstrom in downtown Seattle for the brand new SJP collection launch. The obvious choice was to make a day of it and travel south with my good friend Jess (talented blogger behind North Shore Mama) to meet the style icon who revolutionized the world of designer shoes, and brought  Manolo Blahnik to the forefront of every fashionista’s mind. It was a whirlwind day full of ‘somebody pinch me moments’, as SJP is ever so sweet and effervescent as the character she played on screen (Carrie Bradshaw). On our way out, we also had a chance to sneak back and meet Manolo Blahnik president, George Malkemus who was there in support of his longtime friend SJP. It was a fabulous day!

“I’ve taken inspiration from things in my life such as the grosgrain ribbons I tied in my hair as a girl, to the flower accents from the Sex and the City wardrobe, to references to classic styles from the late 70’s and early 80’s. I’m a firm believer in quality and timelessness and have created this collection with the hopes that women will love wearing it for years to come,” said Sarah Jessica Parker, President SJP USA LLC.

The collection, with shoe prices ranging from $200 to $450 and bags going for just below $700, is available exclusively at Nordstrom.

Here’s a look at my favourites, and all the fun we had with SJP!

Nude shoes!

With wedding season springing ahead, a few brides have asked me for help seeking out the perfect shoe to complete their look. While white, silver, gold & even blue (reference Hangisi Jeweled pump, Manolo Blahnik) shoes have been worn in the past, nude shoes are also noteworthy. They are a fantastic choice, as the colour nude is an elegant but understated look, that is both modern & glamorous.
While shopping for shoes, keep in mind the length of your dress, as well as comfort! Be sure to take your time trying different styles (peep-toe vs. a classic pump), and take note of the heel (height). Comfort is key, as you’re likely to wear these shoes the entire day. And while I love a gorgeous high heel, try to stick to heights (heel) that you are confident with. After all, poise & grace are a must for any bride.

Take a look at some of my favorite nude shoes, available from Nordstrom (and yes, they ship to Canada). I love the stunning classic Couture Bow, by Valentino, what about you?

SMP Weddings

After a relaxing vacation on the sunny island of Maui, its great to be home! And just in time for Christmas, this morning I received an early present, Abby Larson’s first publication, “Weddings“, from a very dear friend (hearts). You can imagine my excitement, as I too, am a die-hard fan of the insanely chic magazine-style wedding blog, Style Me Pretty. I have literally been counting the days ’till the release of this fabulous book, by founder Abby Larson. I absolutely adore the lovely weddings they feature, as well as the amazing ideas & inspirations, and let’s not forget all the crafty DIY projects. SMP first founded in 2007, shortly became one of the industry’s most loved wedding sites. With collaboration from over 1700 vendors, SMP is THE blog for wedding inspirations, fashions, décor, & must-haves alike. The book features Real, Classic, Modern, Rustic, Whimsical & Al Fresco weddings, as well as DIY projects that will leave you inspired & overjoyed. It is available for pre-order on-line, and is a must-have for anyone with a love of weddings, fashion & design.

Here’s my favourite quote so far. “Bespoke. Its the word used to define something that is custom designed for you”. This pretty much sums up the pure essence of utterly unique design of each & every wedding featured in this book. Happy reading and hope you enjoy Abby’s book, full of love stories & gorgeous details as much as I do!!

On that note, wish you & your loved one a Merry Christmas full of love and laughter.

Bridal Fashion

A few weeks ago, I spent the afternoon with a lovely bride-to- be & her family at Bisou Bridal. The bride gracefully tried gown after gown, looking for that one dress that was absolute perfection, and would of course take her fiancé’s breath away. Shortly after trying on a variety of dresses, the latest collection from Monique Lhuillier caught her eye. It was not long ago, when I first fell in love with Monique’s elegant lines and divine French lace. I remember being torn as I loved two dresses, and could not decide which was the ‘one’. Monique’s gowns exude timeless elegance, and stunning silhouettes. Good thing I made my choice (Swan Lake) few years back, as it would be tough picking just one from the Spring 2012 collection. Take a look at some my personal favorites from Monique, available at Bisou Bridal.
