A look back at the Rare Finds Gala

The 4^th annual Rare Finds welcomed 220 guests, and raised over $110,000! The intimate gala took place at the newly renovated Van Dusen Botanical Gardens, and featured 10 of the city’s most talked-about chefs; in a fantastic, and I must add delicious cook-off! Guests feasted on a variety of exquisite meals prepared by chefs from Fairmont Water Front, Shangri La Hotel, Hawskworth, Bridges, Beaucoup Bakery, Fairmont Pacific Rim, Q4 Ristorante, Cadeaux Bakery, Black Catz Catering, and Seasons in the Park.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Rare Disease Foundation, allowing the specialized group of doctors to foster vital rare disease research at BC Children’s Hospital and beyond, expand the parent2parent resource groups, and raise awareness. The funds raised will be distributed by June 15, 2013 to awardees in the current microgrant competition, and immediately begin giving hope, and help to children suffering with rare diseases.
