Being a fan of all things Parisian I had always longed to travel to Paris and attend the fabulous Dîner en Blanc. This past August myself and a dear friend, Jessica Blumel (creative blogger behind North Shore Mama) were invited to attend the Dîner en Blanc Vancouver, and words cannot describe how amazing, and truly majestic this evening was.
For those of you who may not be familiar with this event, Dîner en Blanc launched with just a handful of friends lead by François Pasquier over 25 years ago in France. Paris’ Dîner en Blanc now assembles nearly 15,000 people each year. The French capital’s most prestigious sites have played host to it: the Pont des Arts, the Eiffel Tower site, Place Vendôme, the Château de Versailles, the Esplanade de Notre-Dame, the Esplanade des Invalides, the periphery of the Place de l’Étoile, the Champs-Élysées, Place de la Concorde. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Dîner en Blanc launched on 5 continents, and the wait lists continue to grow! This year the Vancouver chapter had over 10,000 guests on a wait list, so you can imagine our pure excitement when we got the call to attend this amazing event!
My personal highlights from the evening included, the alluring musique Française, stunning executives tables adorned with hanging orchids (decorated by the talented Flowerz Inc), as well as the Sparklers lit by all guests apres dîner! Dinning on the grass fields with the Vancouver horizon as our backdrop, and toasting complete strangers dressed luxuriouosly in white attire made for an unforgettable evening!
Here’s a few photos from this incredible journey! À la prochaine fois!
