My fitness routine has included running and spin classes (3-4 times per week) for as long as I can remember. This of course changed when I had kids and started my own business, and while I’m not complaining, I haven’t kept up with my fitness. This is the main reason why one of my resolutions for 2015 included making time for exercise on a daily basis.
I’m sure you’ve heard the term Bar workout as there’s been so much buzz + praise about this new workout for the past few years. I have read numerous articles about the physical benefits of this new trend, but it wasn’t until I tried my first ever Bar class this past week that I began to fully understand what all the hype (and excitement) is really about! The best way I can describe the class, was the perfect combination of small movements with multiple repetition, ideal for building long lean muscles. Using a variety of equipment such as the ballet bar, weights, and straps I got the a great full body workout and loved every minute of it.
A few fun facts about The Bar Method:
The Bar Method originated in San Fransisco in 2000.
There are two studios located in Vancouver + West Vancouver.
Between the two studios they offer over a 100 classes per week and the childminding is offered at the West Vancouver location (for the busy mom).
One hour workouts burn about 350-400 calories on average!!
If you’re looking to try a new workout, I have teamed up with The Bar Method and will be giving away one 30 day pass, which includes access to unlimited classes for 30 days at either locations. Check out my Instagram account for more information (@fleurdelisevents).
