Are you a busy professional who is starting to feel a little overwhelmed by the amount of moving parts that you have to organize and coordinate for your wedding?
Here are some tips from the Fleur de Lis Team to help you stay sane and organized:
ORGANIZE WITH TOOLS
There are a million tools out there to help you stay organized – use them to your advantage!
Some ideas:
- Using Pinterest to create a vision board to easily communicate with vendors what you are looking for
- Using Google Sheets to organize your guest list – and work on it with your SO or wedding planner wherever you are
- Keep a budget sheet on Excel to keep track of your spending
- Using a wedding planner (the stationery kind, not the person) to clearly list your to-dos and due dates
DELEGATE WORK
Your friends and family are there to celebrate with you, but also to support you through this process! Wedding planner certainly is not a solo operation, it’s a team effort. Do not hesitate to ask your friends and family to run small errands (such as picking up a sample from the vendor), to save you time and keep you sane!
IT’S OK TO GET HELP
Whether you’re hiring a full-service wedding planner or just getting a short consultation, wedding planners are professionals that are dedicated to the success of your big day. Ask them anything! Wedding planners are able to provide venue and vendor recommendations, give you an idea of what your budget will get you, and make sure you’re getting the biggest bang for your buck. Even hiring day-of coordinators can be extremely helpful in alleviating the stress before the big day and on the day of the wedding.
Be sure to work with a wedding planner that you trust and get along with because you will be spending a lot of time working them.
