A few weeks ago I had a lovely meeting with the very stylish & creative proprietor behind Papier by Judy. I first met JudyPhan at the Crème Show this past year, but today had a chance to sample first-hand her beautiful custom-made cards and papier. Having a creative background, I too share Judy’s love of papier and appreciate all the detail & time that goes into each of her unique, custom designed cards. And let me tell you, the possibilities are endless (when it comes to papier that is). Looking through her perfectly arranged box of cards & papier, I recalled myself six years ago, going through tons of wedding invitation catalogues. I also remembered feeling very overwhelmed, as there were simply, too many options. I think I looked through half a dozen binders, each filled with over 100 samples (yes it was quite the hunt)!
Luckily for all you brides out there, Judy first takes the time (a good chunk of it) to get to know her clients, their colours, themes, and most of all, overall idea, and of course budget needs, when it comes to wedding stationary. Then she can present brides (and grooms too of course) with fewer, but more selective & appropriate options, which cater to their taste. And let me tell you, she’s very quick to whip-up or pull out just the right design after sitting down and chatting with you. Her creativitiy, attention to detail, and pure love of her work, are very prominent in her pieces, and very refreshing indeed. From West-Coast style 100% recyclable paper, to papier embedded with herb and flower seeds, to my personal favorite, Eco-friendly wood-paper invitations made of Oak & Maple (yes I am referring to trees), she has it all!
Be sure to check out her website gallery & blog for more infomation on her work. And keep in mind, her pieces are custom-made, so if you don’t see it on her site doesn’t mean she can’t or hasn’t created it! Also, check out her recent You-Tube video, which a great introduction to her fabulous work. Enjoy.
