Having spent the better part of my twenties watching the Sex and the City television series with girlfriends, you can imagine my excitement when I heard about the Sarah Jessica Parker “meet & greet” at the Flagship Nordstrom in downtown Seattle for the brand new SJP collection launch. The obvious choice was to make a day of it and travel south with my good friend Jess (talented blogger behind North Shore Mama) to meet the style icon who revolutionized the world of designer shoes, and brought Manolo Blahnik to the forefront of every fashionista’s mind. It was a whirlwind day full of ‘somebody pinch me moments’, as SJP is ever so sweet and effervescent as the character she played on screen (Carrie Bradshaw). On our way out, we also had a chance to sneak back and meet Manolo Blahnik president, George Malkemus who was there in support of his longtime friend SJP. It was a fabulous day!
“I’ve taken inspiration from things in my life such as the grosgrain ribbons I tied in my hair as a girl, to the flower accents from the Sex and the City wardrobe, to references to classic styles from the late 70’s and early 80’s. I’m a firm believer in quality and timelessness and have created this collection with the hopes that women will love wearing it for years to come,” said Sarah Jessica Parker, President SJP USA LLC.
The collection, with shoe prices ranging from $200 to $450 and bags going for just below $700, is available exclusively at Nordstrom.
Here’s a look at my favourites, and all the fun we had with SJP!
